National Freedom Day Poem, Wishes

The Best Independence Day Poems

Who cares if a solder dies?

Take a man and put him alone,

Put him twelve thousand miles from home.

Empty his heart of all but blood,

Make him live in sand, in mud.

This is the life I have to live,

This the soul to God I give.

You have your parties and drink your beer,

While young men are dying over here.

Play your poilitics and have your fun,

Then refuse to use a gun.

There's nothing else for you to do,

Then I'm supposed to die for you?

There is one thing that you should know;

And that's where I think you should go!

I'm already here and it's too late.

I've traded all my love for all this hate.

I'll hate you till the day I die.

You made me hear my buddy cry.

I saw his leg and his blood shed,

Then I heard them say, "This one's dead".

It was a large price for him to pay,

To let you live another day.

He had the guts to fight and die,

To keep the freedom you live by.

By his dying, your life he buys,

But who cares if a soldier dies!

National Freedom Day

Just cus I walk with confidence does not mean i strut

Just cus i wear the clothes that i want does not mean i'm a slut

Just cus i refuse to listen does not mean i don't hear

Just cus i will fight back does not mean i've had a beer

Just cus i love to flirt does not means its my job

Just cus i hold my head up high does not mean i'm a snob

Just cus i look you in the eye does not mean i'm a threat

But don't you dare try to push me there cus its something you'll regret...

Have you never stood on a mountain top
And dreamed about flying away
Were you never afraid your heart might stop
Before the end of the day

Have you never smiled brightly
For no particular reason
Have you never – if only slightly –
Just enjoyed the season

Have you never stayed outside
Even though you were shaking
Have you never been up all night
Because your heart was breaking

Have you never loved someone
Who didn’t love you in return
Have you never thought you won
Even though it wasn’t your turn

Have you never seen
A sunset at the beach
Have you always been
What your parents preach

Have you never in a lonely night
Hopelessly shed your tears
Have you never turned on the light
To chase away your fears

Have you never waited
For something you knew wouldn’t come
Have you never hated
Yourself for being alone

Have you never gone out in the rain
Despite thunder and lightning
Have you never drowned in your pain
Even though it was frightening

Have you never walked on ice
Playing with the thought to fall
Have you never needed advice
And yet you rejected all

Have you never seen a cloud
With light cutting through like a knife
Have you never thought about
Escaping from your life

Have you never ever before
Wished that love was true
Did you never want to be more
Than was expected of you

I was just wondering, though
Cause I did all of that, you see
And I would really like to know
How much you are like me
